THE NEW NOW - A WEEK IN THE LIFE

Last week

I had the opportunity to participate in the Midland Market in Los Angeles. IF YOU DON’T KNOW, I started a namesake shoe brand (for those of you who don’t follow me on social media) called Jamie Haller. My shoes epitomize casual luxury and understated elegance. They elevate the everyday. They are easy and above all the most comfortable. They are my babies and I am very proud of them. I was at the market selling shoes and introducing my slippers and loafers to a bigger world.

The Midland Market is an awesome makers market with over 70 brands selling their beautiful items direct to their customers. This was my first time being a part of the market experience and although it was new ground for me, I really enjoyed the experience. It is a communal experience, intimate and friendly. It is inspiring to be among so many like minded creators.  It was so nice getting to meet supporters of Jamie Haller Shoes, as well as introducing the brand to new friends.

Rachel Pally

One of those amazing creators is Rachel Pally. Twenty years in business, she is a clothing brand. Ethically manufactured out of downtown LA. Her pieces are beautiful and effortless, made to dress women of all shapes and sizes and stages of life. She also had a selection of original ceramic pieces she makes herself.

Kin and Kind

Another talented creator at the market, was Kin and Kind. They featured their lovely handcrafted candles, made of 100% pure and naturally dyed beeswax. Kin and Kind curates a unique collection of goods, ranging from vintage rugs to naturally dyed textiles, artisan candles to handmade decor. I fell in love with these beautiful candles. They balance the perfect mix of whimsey and feminine wild spirit which speaking a language of the maker. The color palette is what drew me in, a perfect colorful rainbow of matte wax.

Moon Canyon

An equally talented brand I loved connecting with more was Moon Canyon. They create mindful products formed from organic herbal ingredients with the intention of boosting vitality and overall healing. It was so nice to spend time with Kristen and Sarah, (such sweet humans). They also brought the most beautiful homemade wreaths, that were an absolute hit.

Stephanie Dawn Matthias

I could go on and on with all of the wonderful vendors at Midland but I’m going to wrap this up with the amazing creator, Stephanie Dawn Matthias. SDM is made local in Los Angeles but is inspired by Europe which you can definitely see in these beautiful pieces. All pieces are 100% made by Stephanie, making no two pieces identical. Every piece is unique and perfect in its own way. It was such a pleasure getting to visit Stephanie and learn more about her business. I can see these very special creations in so many of my projects. They have an energy from another era which speaks to my heart.

Until next time Midland Market, it was a pleasure getting to experience you and all you had to offer! Check out these other brands as they all would make the most lovely holiday gifts or anytime gifts for yourself.
